Senior Data Engineer - Full-Time employee
Siri Inc., a hot start-up in the mobile internet space, is looking for a Senior Data Engineer. We are looking for self-motivated, high-energy individuals who enjoy the challenge of working in a small company where everyone works together to be successful.
The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for data acquisition and enrichment of provider data across multiple domains. This position involves a wide variety of skills, the focus to meet aggressive deadlines, and the ability to find a way to "make it work".
Specific responsibilities include:
- owner of everything data-related
- maintain and improve existing data feed processing infrastructure
- build out large-scale content repository
- leverage parallelization technology to improve speed and efficiency of processing
- improve quality and consistency of data
- Work with engineering team to integrate data into application
- Work with QA team to build out test framework for data validation
Required skills include, but are not limited to:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
- Minimum of 5 years experience integrating large amounts of data
- Expert in server-side Java, Hibernate, and map-reduce technologies (Hadoop)
- Comfortable working with multiple data formats, such as XML, CSV, RSS, SQL
- Demonstrated experience working with Bash and Linux
